In the many years I have lived around San Diego, I have worked in the non-profit, business and government sectors as a policy and budget analyst, urban and policy planner, political aide, consultant and teacher, even an elected politician. I have served on numerous boards, committees and commissions. I have worked with all kinds of interesting, unusual, and creative people. My nature compels me to explore new interests and look for new challenges.
While I do not regret having been a “career nomad”, I did not set out to move through
the world of work in this way. Had I known myself better, I might have avoided some complicated, unnecessary paths. I might have more efficiently navigated the world of
work. But my journey is more like the future than the past. It is estimated that today’s twenty-somethings will have five or more careers in their lifetimes! It is my unique background that has prepared me to help people of all ages find work that expresses their personalities and passions. This is my purpose for establishing San Diego Career Launch.
